Evernorth plans to put portions of its 473 million XRP to work through Ripple, Coinbase, Kraken and BitGo

Evernorth, the Nasdaq-listed XRP treasury company, will deploy portions of its 473 million XRP through Ripple, Coinbase, Kraken and BitGo from Q4 2026. Its yardstick is XRP per share, so the yield on deployed tokens has to outrun any losses from counterparties.

What happened

  • The merger with Armada Acquisition Corp. II closed on October 9, 2026, XRPN began trading around October 12, and the partner announcement followed on October 14.
  • The first phase will use strategies already available through established institutional counterparties, under the oversight of Evernorth's investment and risk team.
  • Direct deployment on the XRP Ledger comes later, after validators activate native lending and onchain credit markets and those markets prove themselves in production.
  • Chief Investment Officer Hugo Jeandesboz, appointed in September, runs the program after serving as co-CIO at Coinbase Asset Management.

Why it matters

  • Who's exposed exposure Once tokens are lent, shareholders carry the risk that a borrower does not repay, and the later onchain phase adds smart contract bugs as another way to lose XRP.
  • What it limits constraint Until validators act, the return comes from strategies that already exist, so the first results will test how much Evernorth deploys and which counterparties it picks.
  • What it sets up precedent If deployment lifts XRP per share, other token treasuries judged on accumulation get a second metric to copy; a lost loan would give them a reference case for the opposite.

The two reports value the same 473 million XRP differently. News.Bitcoin.com puts the treasury at near $639 million [6], Crypto Briefing at about $648 million [7]. Divided by the same token count, that is roughly $1.35 and $1.37 a token [18][19], and the $9 million gap is 1.4% of the lower figure [20], most likely a difference in when the price was read. The dollar total is a price. The token count did not change between the reports, and tokens are what Evernorth's chosen yardstick counts.

Chief executive Asheesh Birla put the aim this way: "We're putting our treasury to work. That is how we grow XRP per share over time." [11] News.Bitcoin.com notes that most crypto treasury companies are judged by how much of an asset they accumulate [24], so XRP per share is a second test layered on the first.

Bound the prize with a round number. One percentage point of yield on the whole treasury would be 4.73 million XRP, about $6.4 million at the lower valuation [22]. Evernorth plans to deploy only portions [1], in a phased rollout set to begin in Q4 2026 [2], so the realised amount would be smaller. Losing the same 4.73 million XRP on a single loan would cancel it. The reports do not say how much XRP moves first or how many shares divide the 473 million, so XRP per share cannot be computed from them.

Half the partner list, two of four [21], connects to the executives' careers. Birla is a former Ripple executive [5], and Crypto Briefing ties Coinbase's place on the list to Jeandesboz's time there [17]. News.Bitcoin.com says the four were chosen on institutional infrastructure, licensing, capitalization and experience [14]. Both accounts can be true. Jeandesboz framed the job as management: "The question for any treasury is not whether it can hold an asset, but whether it can manage one," he said [12].

We think the early phase moves XRP per share only a little, because only portions are deployed [1]. The larger prize is onchain. News.Bitcoin.com says Evernorth could become one of the more important institutional liquidity providers in XRP-native credit markets if those markets gain adoption [25], and that depends on validators and users, neither of which Evernorth controls. The counter-case is that those markets arrive quickly and Evernorth is early in them, which would make the first phase a modest warm-up. As a Nasdaq-listed company, Evernorth will eventually have to show returns and risks in public filings, Crypto Briefing noted [16]. We would be wrong if those filings show most of the 473 million XRP deployed, XRP per share rising and no loss at any of the four counterparties.

What to watch

  • Whether deployment starts in Q4 2026 as planned and how much of the 473 million XRP leaves custody.
  • The first public filings: returns, risks, counterparty terms and the share count needed to compute XRP per share.
  • Whether XRP Ledger validators activate native lending and onchain credit markets that Evernorth can use.
