The other claims of detention rest on single statements. Representatives of two digital media outlets said on X that police detained four of their reporters [9]. The president of the Supreme Court bar association posted on X that some lawyers protesting outside the court were picked up [10]. There was no immediate comment from police [11].

The dispute behind the rally is unresolved. The Election Commission says the figure of about 130 million is entries flagged during draft revision, and that voters wrongly removed can enroll again [17]. The commission and the BJP deny the allegations, and Kumar has not commented [16].

The street campaign already has a record. Demonstrations forced education minister Dharmendra Pradhan to resign on July 25 [7]. Reuters describes near daily opposition protests, with key state elections starting in early 2027 [5][6]. We'd expect more rally days in Delhi before then.
