Amazon's Bee Pro plan puts shopping suggestions inside an $11.99-a-month bundle

A spouse says to pick up cat litter. With Bee's Amazon integration switched on, The Verge reports, you might see a product card on your Amazon homepage, or an Amazon button in the Bee mobile app that links to the product ^[2]. TechCrunch describes the same connection more broadly: owners can make purchases from Amazon, or ask Alexa for their Bee insights, summaries and to-dos hands-free ^[14].

The feature is opt-in and works from your conversations ^[1]. It is also a paid one. Bee Pro costs $11.99 a month ^[4], so a year is $143.88 ^[16], or 1.92 times the Frontier's $74.99 price ^[18]. The Verge calls Amazon and Alexa Plus compatibility "the big marquee feature" of the subscription ^[6]. Pro also adds unlimited summaries, suggested to-dos, daily memories, a personal chat assistant, conversation templates, third-party app integrations and a desktop app ^[6].

What a product team tells itself is that a device that hears "buy cat litter" will turn it into an order. What owners actually do is not on record. Neither report includes purchase, retention or subscriber figures, and the Amazon and Alexa integrations are new with these devices ^[5]. The Verge describes the category as note-taking, with Bee conceptually similar to Plaud NotePin and Limitless AI ^[9]. The shopping link is described only for Bee.

TechCrunch prices the Frontier against the $159 Plaud Note, the $189 Note Pro and the $129 Pocket ^[8]. Those are hardware prices.

On privacy, TechCrunch reports that transcripts are encrypted with keys the device creates and controls, so no one else, Amazon employees included, can open them unless the owner manually and intentionally shares them ^[21].

Which features survive without Pro is harder to read than the price. The Verge says owners can link Bee to Gmail, Google Calendar and Outlook so it can draft emails and send invites ^[10], and TechCrunch says Bee works with the same productivity software ^[13]. Both also list third-party app integrations as a Pro feature ^[6][11].

The shopping card suits one buyer: someone who already runs household errands through Amazon and says them out loud. The Verge describes the Eclipse as a non-wearable alternative envisioned for more professional use cases ^[15]. For everyone else the Frontier is a $74.99 note-taker, and we'd evaluate it that way and treat Pro as a second purchase. The cost of that approach is waiting: the Amazon link, the chat assistant and the desktop app all sit behind the second purchase ^[6].

Two questions sort the decision: whether the free tier's summaries, recaps and 14 days of memory cover your use ^[4], and whether you would turn the Amazon link on. If the free tier is enough and the link stays off, buy the Frontier and stop at $74.99. If it is enough but you want the link, the product cards are the only reason to pay, and they cost $143.88 a year. If the free tier falls short and the link stays off, judge Pro as a notes subscription. If it falls short and you want the link, Pro covers both, and what the opt-in sends to Amazon is the first thing to settle.
